La cantante Lili K fa uscire nel giorno del suo compleanno un EP di quattro tracce intitolato My Favorite Things già anticipato qualche giorno fa dal singolo Interlude.
Il titolo riporta subito in mente uno dei brani più famosi suonati da Coltrane, lasciando intendere che abbiamo per le mani un tributo al mondo del jazz da Frank Sinatra passando per Ella Fitzgerald e senza dimenticarsi di Dizzy Gillspie.
La voce di Lili K da nuova vita ai classici jazz miscelandoli al nu-soul e aggiungendo un pizzico di hip hop, dando vita ad un ep della durata di venti minuti che portano una ventata di freschezza grazie al tocco personale della cantante.
Il producer Peter Cottontale mescola suoni classici con quelli moderni, spaziando tra classic jazz e nu jazz, avvalendosi di collaboratori come Nico Segal e Greg Landfair, rispettivamente trombettista e chitarrista dei Kids This Days ed il pianista jazz William Kurk.
My favourite things è un ep che prosegue il cammino musicale intrapreso due anni fa dalla cantante con A prelude to hello.
Non ci poteva essere dunque regalo migliore per festeggiare un compleanno e noi vi consigliamo di recuperare i suoi lavori precedenti da Soundcloud.

Preceded a few days ago by the first single, “Interlude“, Songstress Lili K releases a four track EP entitled My Favorite Things in the day of her birthday.
Not only the Coltrane song comes up to mind, but her tribute to the world of jazz ranging from Frank Sinatra and to Ella Fitzgerald to Dizzy Gillspie.
The voice of Lili K breathes new life into the songs, vocals going from classic jazz to nu-soul and adding a pinch of hip hop, for a total running time of twenty minutes.
Producer Peter Cottontale combines classic with modern, from classic to nu jazz, the band being Nico Segal and Greg Landfair, respectively trumpeter and guitarist of Kids This Days, and pianist William Kurk.
