Dan Snaith aka Caribou pubblicherà il prossimo anno un nuovo album che seguirà l’acclamato Our Love del 2014. Il prossimo disco si intitola Suddenly ed esce via City Slang il 28 febbraio 2020 ma intanto possiamo già avere un assaggio di come sarà ascoltando il singolo You and I, il secondo dopo Home, pubblicato ad ottobre.
“You and I’ was one of the first tracks on the album that I started, and one of the last tracks I finished; it existed in some form or other throughout the whole arc of making the record,” dichiara Caribou su You and I. “It also captures a lot of what the record, and the title of the album, are about—the track changes suddenly and unpredictably, and it is about a change in my life that happened out of the blue”
E in effetti questa traccia cambia registro più volte, intrecciando synth morbidi dal sapore anni ’80 a beat frizzanti, festa e malinconia insieme, servendoci un piatto electro-pop dai sapori decisamente contrastanti.
